Microsoft Syntex or SharePoint Premium

Microsoft Syntex is an artificial intelligence and machine learning tool from Microsoft. It integrates with SharePoint, the document-sharing and collaboration platform from Microsoft.

The Syntex feature on SharePoint uses artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and automated document processing to organize and auto-assemble content, search existing documents for information, and analyze processes for security and compliance.

Syntex is attractive because it allows companies to use AI on their existing documents and data without investing in new infrastructure.

The evolution of the SharePoint syntax started on Nov 2019 and the initial name actually came in as Project cortex and all the feature in Project cortex is similar to SharePoint syntax.

And then if we fast forward to September 2020 that’s when we got announcement of SharePoint syntax and again everything else is pretty much the same all the evolution about the AI automation to go ahead and get all your information from your document all were same

And again when we fast forward back in ignite of 2022 October MS had announced that it no longer SharePoint syntax but its now going to be Microsoft syntax , Content AI in the flow of your work.

And now in November 2023 ignite It is renamed as SharePoint premium, Its not just renaming of the Microsoft syntax. Because it will now bring so many feature along with the whole new premium concept.

Microsoft Syntex can be helpful for different companies and organizations. Here is a closer look at what it can do for companies:

Track data from invoices and contracts documents.
Improve data processing insights and analytics.
Once the data is extracted further automate it via Powerplatforms and other modern applications
Assistance with Compliance.
Advanced Taxonomy searches

Image tagging :- Microsoft Syntex makes it easier to find and manage images in SharePoint document libraries. It does this process by automatically tagging images with descriptive keywords using AI. These keywords are stored in a managed metadata column (the Image Tags column), which makes it easier to search, sort, filter, and manage the images.

Taxonomy tagging :- Microsoft Syntex gives you the ability to automatically tag documents in SharePoint libraries with terms configured in your term store using AI. These terms are stored in a managed metadata column on the item, making the documents easier to search, sort, filter, and manage.

OCR :- The optical character recognition (OCR) service in Microsoft Syntex lets you extract printed or handwritten text from images, such as posters, drawings, and product labels, as well as from documents like articles, reports, forms, and invoices.

The text is typically extracted as words, text lines, and paragraphs or text blocks, enabling access to digital version of the scanned text. The extracted information is indexed in search and can be made available for compliance features like DLP.

Content assembly :-You can use the content assembly capabilities in Microsoft Syntex to help you automatically generate standard repetitive business documents, such as contracts, statements of work, service agreements, letters of consent, sales pitches, and correspondence. You can do all these actions quicker, more consistently, and with fewer errors by creating modern templates and using those templates to generate documents.
